Porsche states that it will show the Cayenne Electric on November 19. The brand adds a fourth model to its electric line up - yet keeps the current petrol Cayenne on sale beside it. Porsche says some regions buy electric cars at a lower rate than forecast - the Cayenne badge has lasted 22 years and the company wants the new car to raise the bar for SUVs.
The Cayenne Electric uses the Volkswagen Group 800 V Premium Platform Electric, the same base found under the Porsche Macan Electric besides Audi Q6 E-tron. Two permanent magnet synchronous motors deliver power to all four wheels - one motor sits on the front axle, the second mounts at the rear. The pair is expected to deliver up to 1000 hp, a figure that puts the SUV among the most powerful on sale.
A 108 kWh battery sits under the floor. Porsche expects a single charge range above 373 miles. The 800 V hardware accepts up to 400 kW at a compatible station - a 10-to-80 percent recharge needs 16 minutes. For the first time on a Porsche, the car also works with wireless charging pads.
The electric version looks different from the petrol car. The nose slips through the air more cleanly, the side glass has no frames and the door handles sit flush with the body. Length grows to 4979 mm, 49 mm longer than the petrol model - the wheelbase stretches 35 mm to 3020 mm creating more cabin space. The first body style is a classic SUV - a coupe like variant will arrive next year.
In the cockpit, the car receives the greatest number of displays ever fitted to a Porsche, headed by a curved centre touchscreen. After the online premiere, the public debut will take place at the Icons of Porsche Festival in Dubai. Sales start in early 2026.
