Porsche is shaking up the electric performance SUV field with the upcoming Cayenne EV Coupe Turbo GT. The new all-electric variant promises hypercar performance, introducing a compelling rival for top-tier EVs from both the sports and SUV segments.
Porsche is not backing down in its bid to become a leader in electric luxury performance. Building upon last year's debut of the Cayenne Electric, the German brand is reportedly preparing a harder-core Coupe Turbo GT version. With an expected output that could exceed 1,139 horsepower and a Launch Control system delivering 1,106 lb-ft of torque, the new version is set to become Porsche’s most powerful road-going vehicle to date.
This staggering level of power will allow the Cayenne EV Coupe Turbo GT to sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.4 seconds—on par with, or even ahead of, several established hypercars. A top speed around 162 mph is also anticipated. These specifications set an entirely new standard for electric performance SUVs.
Recent spy shots reveal the Cayenne EV Coupe Turbo GT sporting an enhanced aerodynamic profile. Notable cues include a steeply raked roofline, fixed rear wing, and signature five-spoke wheels flanked by heavy-duty brake calipers and ventilated discs. These features not only boost the vehicle’s appearance but contribute to handling and stability at high speeds.
Though the interior remains largely under wraps, indications suggest Porsche will retain and refine its high-tech, premium environment. Expect features like a 14.25-inch digital instrument cluster, curved OLED infotainment screen, and an optional front passenger display. Comfort won’t be overlooked: ambient lighting and advanced heating elements are set to be standard fare.
Given its anticipated specs, the Cayenne EV Coupe Turbo GT is likely to command a steep price point. For context, the current Cayenne Turbo Electric starts at $163,000, while the gas-powered Turbo GT is listed from $214,800. The new Turbo GT EV will likely be priced at the echelon of the range.
Porsche’s innovation in blending SUV practicality with supercar performance demonstrates the changing face of electric vehicles. As the automotive world awaits its official unveiling, the Cayenne EV Coupe Turbo GT is poised to redefine what’s possible in the electric performance realm, both on paper and on the road.
