Riot Games adds the Spiritforged set to its trading card game, Riftbound. The set brings three new rules - Equipment, Gold besides Repeat spells. This guide explains each rule so you know what to expect in a match.
Equipment cards are a new subtype that you attach to a unit. The card stays on the board after the unit dies and you may move it to a different unit. Draven's Spinning Axe is one such card - you play it as a Reaction and give a unit +3 power for that fight. If the unit that wins the fight is Draven, Glorious Executioner, you draw one card.
Gold is a token created by other cards. You may discard one Gold to cover the recycle cost of a rune, which lets you cast expensive runes sooner. Renata Glasc, Chem Baroness, creates one Gold when she exhausts. She upgrades that Gold so it pays for two recycle costs letting you cast a card like Time Warp well before turn six.
Repeat spells let you pay their cost a second time to cast the same spell again in the same turn. Because rune costs are low, you usually have the mana to pay twice. If you also have Gold, you can cast multiple spells in one turn and run out your opponent's answers.
Spiritforged arrives on February 13th, 2026. Learn those rules before release so you can use the new cards from day one.
