For anyone who grew up watching early 2000s teen comedies, the gaming landscape is about to get more interesting. A new title is on the way trying to recreate the rebellious spirit and awkward charm of that era offering a nostalgic trip back to high school but with more freedom and fewer consequences. Developer Refugium Games has announced Agefield High - Rock the School, a PC game set for a Q2 2026 release. The game heavily inspired by films like American Pie, puts players in the role of Sam Tatum, the new kid in town. Alongside his friends, the laid back Kale Baines and rocker Axel Philly, Sam will navigate the social challenges of Agefield High including a rivalry with the school jock, Seth. The game's design immediately recalls Rockstar's beloved classic Bully, a title that has left a clear gap in the genre for nearly two decades. Agefield High appears ready to fill that gap offering an open world that extends beyond the school campus to include neighborhoods, a town center plus the countryside. Players can choose to attend classes like math and music or skip them entirely to explore, pull pranks and cause trouble - though teachers and cops will give chase if you're caught. Refugium Games has outlined a clear scope for the adventure promising approximately 8-10 hours of gameplay across 32 main missions and 15 side quests. The experience is completed with customization options for clothes, bikes and tattoos, funded by money earned in game. The inclusion of details like purchasable adult magazines further reinforces its commitment to the teen comedy theme. If successful Agefield High could spark a revival of school based open-world games proving that a strong market still exists for lighthearted, genre specific nostalgia.
