Toyota has begun selling the newest RAV4 in Japan - every unit uses a hybrid system that recharges its own battery while you drive. Power and handling stay the same, but buyers who want a different look may order one of two Modellista dress up kits. Those kits change only appearance plus small cabin details - they do not alter how the vehicle drives.
Japanese customers may fit their RAV4 with one of two Modellista packages. The Lifestyle kit, offered on the Z grade, adds a front splitter, extra LED lamps, side skirts as well as a rear bumper extension. Buyers may also choose 20-inch alloy wheels. Inside the car the kit brings a sun shade usable in all seasons, extra cargo storage and longer strips of ambient light.
The Outdoor kit, aimed at the Adventure grade, drops the sporty pieces or adds trail style trim - a new grille with built in LEDs, silver finish skid plates, fake side vents and wider fender flares. A hood deflector and more interior storage bins are included. Eighteen-inch alloy wheels in Matte Olive paint are available as an extra.
Every RAV4 sold in Japan pairs a 2.5-litre petrol engine with an electric motor for a total of 237 hp. An E-Four electric all-wheel-drive system with Trail or Snow modes is standard. Those figures match those of the North-American model. Toyota will add a plug in hybrid with higher output and a GR Sport trim before the 2026 fiscal year ends.
The Adventure grade starts at ¥4,500,000, about $29,000 at current rates. The Z grade begins at ¥4,900,000, roughly $31,500. The Modellista Outdoor kit costs ¥508,310 ($3,300) and the Lifestyle kit is ¥586,760 ($3,800); both prices exclude the base car.
