A brand new 2026 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 showing only 40 miles on the odometer, is now listed for sale on Bring a Trailer leaving fans puzzled. The seller says the car's raw power scared him - he chose to let it go almost immediately.
The seller paid far above sticker price for both a mandatory Z06 and the ZR1 itself. He states he truly wanted the car - yet the twin turbo 5.5-liter LT7 V8 delivers 1,064 hp and 828 lb ft of torque, more than he feels ready to control. The dealer running the auction stresses that the sale is not a simple flip - the buyer simply felt the performance was too extreme for him.
The 2026 Corvette ZR1 tops 233 mph. This car carries the 3LZ trim and the ZTK track pack, which adds race grade dampers, carbon ceramic brakes besides Michelin Cup 2R tires. It also includes the Carbon Fiber Aero Package, which sharpens both the look and the downforce.
The sticker price was $182,395 and options pushed the total to $214,800. Bids for this barely driven example have already climbed past $296,000. GM policy voids the warranty once it labels a car as flipped - the next owner will probably have to buy coverage from an outside provider.
The quick resale of this ZR1 and rumors of an even wilder ZR1X model, casts doubt on how well today's ZR1 will hold its value. Z06 prices have swung sharply and early ZR1 values could follow the same path.
