Audi has announced a special edition of the RS3, named the Competition Limited, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of its five-cylinder engine. The model, available in both Sportback and Sedan body styles, will be restricted to a production run of 750 units worldwide. The focus of this edition is on enhancing chassis dynamics and handling rather than increasing engine output.
The most significant updates are found in the vehicle's suspension system. The Competition Limited is equipped with a new three-way adjustable coilover suspension. This system allows drivers to manually fine-tune the suspension's compression and rebound characteristics, providing a customized setup for different conditions, such as track use or public roads. The package includes a dedicated tool kit for these adjustments. Further enhancing its track capabilities are a stiffer rear stabilizer bar, standard ceramic brakes, and the option of Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R semi-slick tires.
Under the hood, the Competition Limited retains the standard turbocharged 2.5-liter five-cylinder engine. It produces 395 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque, identical to the standard RS3. Power is delivered to all four wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and Audi's quattro all-wheel-drive system. Performance figures remain unchanged, with a 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) time of 3.8 seconds and a top speed of 290 km/h (180 mph). The auditory experience is enhanced by a standard RS sports exhaust and reduced sound insulation at the firewall, allowing more of the engine's distinct sound to enter the cabin.
Visually, the special edition is distinguished by several unique features. These include a front splitter, canards, and a rear spoiler finished in matte carbon fiber. The 19-inch wheels feature a Neodymium gold matte finish. A notable detail is the darkened Matrix LED headlights, which perform a startup sequence that flashes in the engine's 1-2-4-5-3 firing order. The interior receives RS bucket seats with carbon fiber seatbacks, special trim, and a plaque on the center console indicating the car's serial number out of 750.
The Audi RS3 Competition Limited is positioned as a track-focused model for enthusiasts and collectors. European deliveries are scheduled to begin in mid-2026, with pricing in Germany starting at approximately €108,365 for the Sportback. Availability and pricing for the North American market have not yet been announced. The model represents a specialized offering within the high-performance compact segment, prioritizing handling precision and exclusivity.
