Jeep is rolling out new 85th Anniversary Editions for several of its popular models, including the Compass, Cherokee, Grand Cherokee, and Grand Wagoneer. These special editions aim to commemorate the brand's milestone with unique styling cues and interior accents. However, a distinctive feature previously introduced on other anniversary models appears to be absent.
Jeep is marking its 85th anniversary with a series of special editions, building on the earlier releases for the Gladiator and Wrangler. Those initial models boasted exclusive 17-inch Steel Oxide wheels, bronze tow hooks, body-color fender flares, and distinctive plaid seats, alongside anniversary badging.
The latest wave of anniversary models extends this celebratory treatment to the redesigned Cherokee, the facelifted Grand Cherokee, and the Grand Wagoneer. Even the Compass joins the commemoration, acknowledging its own decade-long presence in the lineup. While details are sparse, Jeep has confirmed these new editions will sport unique Steel Oxide wheels and Agave Blue graphics.
Inside, the 85th Anniversary Editions will feature Mayan Gold contrast stitching and special seat tags in Blue Agave and Mayan Gold. However, a significant detail is the apparent exclusion of the plaid upholstery that was a standout feature on the Gladiator and Wrangler anniversary versions. This omission might disappoint enthusiasts looking for a consistent retro touch across all special editions.
While Jeep has not released full specifications for all models, it's anticipated that the Cherokee 85th Anniversary Edition will likely feature a hybridized 1.6-liter turbo engine, producing around 210 horsepower. The Grand Wagoneer is expected to be powered by a twin-turbo 3.0-liter inline-six engine, delivering approximately 420 horsepower. Jeep CEO Bob Broderdorf emphasized the brand's commitment to customer feedback, stating it has guided Jeep since its inception with the 1941 Willys.
