Belkin has introduced a groundbreaking plug-and-play casting system at CES 2026, designed to eliminate the need for Wi-Fi or Bluetooth for screen sharing. This innovative solution allows users to effortlessly connect laptops, tablets, and smartphones to larger displays wirelessly, promising a more streamlined and accessible experience for presentations and entertainment.
The new ConnectAir Wireless HDMI Display Adapter, priced at $150, comprises a USB-C transmitter dongle and a USB-A to HDMI receiver. This setup enables users to connect the receiver to a TV, monitor, or projector, and then wirelessly cast content from their devices. The system boasts a significant wireless range of up to 131 feet (40 meters), providing flexibility in how and where content can be shared.
Belkin has engineered the ConnectAir to deliver a smooth visual experience, supporting 1080p resolution at a fluid 60Hz refresh rate. Crucially, the device offers latency under 80ms, making it suitable for applications where real-time responsiveness is important. Compatibility is a strong suit, with support for USB-C devices that feature DisplayPort Alt Mode. This includes a wide array of modern laptops running Windows, macOS, and ChromeOS, as well as tablets like the M1 and M2 iPad Pro and iPad Air, and smartphones capable of video output.
Beyond individual use, the ConnectAir Wireless HDMI Display Adapter is designed for collaborative environments. Belkin highlights its capability for multi-user screen sharing, supporting up to eight transmitters simultaneously. This feature is ideal for meeting rooms, classrooms, or any setting where multiple individuals need to share their screens efficiently. The dongle, available in black, is expected to be released early this year.
