The smart TV market is gearing up for a significant leap forward in 2026, moving beyond incremental updates to introduce groundbreaking technologies. While 2025 saw impressive models like Samsung's S95F OLED and Hisense's RGB MiniLED, the upcoming year promises even more innovation, with a strong focus on advanced display technologies and enhanced user experiences.
LG is set to make a significant impact with its upcoming Micro RGB evo television, also known as the LG MRGB95. Available in 75, 86, and 100-inch sizes, these models offer a more living-room-friendly alternative to some of the larger displays. Powered by the new α (Alpha) 11 AI Processor Gen 3, these TVs promise enhanced upscaling and AI-driven features. They will also boast impressive color coverage, supporting the full BT.2020, DCI-P3, and Adobe RGB color spaces for more lifelike visuals. While the number of dimming zones is fewer than some competitors, LG is expected to reveal more details at CES.
Following the introduction of its first Micro RGB TV, the MR95F, Samsung plans to release smaller, more accessible models in 2026. These will include 55, 65, 75, 85, 100, and 115-inch options, directly challenging OLED and Mini-LED TVs. While pricing for these new models is yet to be announced, they are expected to be more affordable than the current high-end offerings. These new TVs will feature full BT.2020 color space coverage, updated AI chipsets, an AI companion, and support for Eclipsa Audio, a new spatial sound format developed with Google. More information will be shared at CES 2026.
Sony is also joining the RGB MiniLED revolution with its first "True RGB" TVs, expected to launch in 2026. The company has trademarked the "True RGB" name, indicating its branding for this technology. Rumors suggest models like the Bravia 10, potentially featuring MediaTek's MT9131 chipset, and the Bravia 9 II and Bravia 7 II, with screen sizes ranging from 50 to 115 inches. These TVs are expected to run on the Google TV operating system.
Building on the success of the S95F OLED TV, Samsung is anticipated to release new OLED models in 2026. Leaks suggest a potential new flagship, the S99H, which could surpass the upcoming S95H successor. While specific enhancements are still under wraps, all of Samsung's 2026 TV models, including the S99H, will support Eclipsa Audio. The S99H is expected to come in screen sizes from 55 to 83 inches.
