Apple has issued a revised Release Candidate (RC) build for tvOS 26.2, just a day after the first version appeared. The company expects this build to be the last before the public version ships, most likely next week. tvOS 26.2 adds clearer user profile tools to the Apple TV 4K and also brings routine speed gains and bug repairs.
tvOS 26.2 adds multiple profile features that apply only to the Apple TV 4K. A profile can now be created without linking it to an Apple Account. Child profiles will limit the Apple TV app to titles that match the child's age - younger viewers see only suitable content.
The first RC carried build number 23K51. The revised RC carries 23K53. Apple has not listed the exact differences - yet the company often replaces an RC when a critical bug appears close to release. If no new problems surface, build 23K53 will ship to the public next week as the final tvOS 26.2.
Apart from the profile changes, the update delivers standard bug fixes and performance gains so that the Apple TV 4K runs with fewer stutters or crashes. Apple invites users who tested the tvOS 26.2 beta to report any fresh findings or issues.
