Apple will apply tighter rules to the Sleep Score feature in the watchOS 26.2 update. The score still uses the same three parts - Duration (50 points), Bedtime (30 points) and Interruptions (20 points). That total reaches 100 points. The point ranges that define each grade have changed.
The change will yield a stricter grade that matches the data. Many users obtained high grades under the old limits. The list below shows the old grade ranges and the new ones.
A score of 75, previously labeled “High,” will henceforth appear as “OK.” Apple recalculated the ranges with data from the Apple Heart besides Movement Study. Leading sleep science groups contributed guidance.
Apple changed the top label from “Excellent” to “Very High.” The new wording signals that the number is meant for comparison against data, not for estimating how rested a person should feel. A higher score now requires harder conditions to be met. The update produces a grade that better reflects the data instead of inflating it.
