Beijing, China – A significant milestone in China's robotics development was reached on February 28th with the official release of the "Humanoid Robot and Embodied Intelligence Standard System (2026 Edition)". This groundbreaking system, established by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's newly formed Technical Committee, represents the nation's first unified framework for the entire humanoid robot industry chain and its complete lifecycle.
The Humanoid Robot and Embodied Intelligence Standardization (HEIS) annual meeting in Beijing served as the platform for this pivotal announcement. The newly released standard system provides a unified set of guidelines, aiming to accelerate the development and deployment of humanoid robots across various sectors. This comprehensive approach ensures consistency and interoperability from the foundational elements to the final applications.
The standard system is meticulously organized into six distinct sections, each addressing a critical aspect of humanoid robot development and operation:
Beyond the standard system, the HEIS meeting also highlighted key standard projects for humanoid robots and embodied intelligence. Furthermore, two significant initiatives were launched: the "Cooperation Initiative on Building Humanoid Robot Identity Management Mechanisms" and the "Initiative on Safe Development of the Humanoid Robot and Embodied Intelligence Industry." These initiatives aim to strengthen the underlying support structures and promote industrial safety.
The Technical Committee is committed to collaborating with government bodies, enterprises, research institutions, and universities to advance the formulation of standards within this newly established framework, paving the way for China's leadership in the global humanoid robotics market.
