Team Cherry has issued a new patch for the PC release of Hollow Knight - Silksong. It responds to player comments about difficulty and adds small convenience features. The main change is a reduction in power for the Muckmaggots, enemies that many players found too strong.
Muckmaggot Adjustments
Areas like Bilewater and the Putrified Ducts should now feel less harsh. Muckmaggots once drained Hornet's silk plus forced the player to spend large amounts of thread to restrain them. The update lowers their threat in the following ways:
- Multibinder: When the player first activates the Multibinder, all maggots on the screen disappear. This follows direct feedback from the community.
- Wreath of Purity: The item now breaks less easily. If the player performs a second bind while the wreath is active, Hornet regains a portion of health giving a better chance to survive the fight.
Other Patch Alterations
Patch 4 (build 1.0.29242) includes further revisions:
- Gurr the Outcast: The boss is tougher. His trap toss now spins through the air - he stands still for a shorter period.
- Controller Support: The game uses Unity's Input System. More controller models now vibrate as intended.
- Convenience: Couriers do not repeat the same delivery request right after the player finishes it. Fixes cover the Druid's Eyes, down attack hit-boxes and Rune Rage damage values.
- Translation: The Simplified Chinese text has been replaced with a fan version that the studio calls faithful to the original script.
The patch is active on PC - the console edition will receive the same update shortly.
