In Arc Raiders, you survive longer when your weapons stay strong. The kit you start with works for the first fights, but tougher enemies arrive quickly. Upgrading weapons before you meet them raises your chance of leaving the map alive. This guide shows each required step.

Unlocking the Gunsmith

You need to build the weapons bench called the Gunsmith before you upgrade anything. Collect 20 Rubber Parts and 20 Metal Parts. Loot crates during drops, finish tutorial quests or break down junk items like scrap gear besides ARC tech. Once the parts sit in your inventory, open the Workshop in the main lobby, pick Install and place Gunsmith I.

Upgrading Weapons and the Gunsmith

Open the Workshop and click the Gunsmith bench. Choose the Weapon Upgrades tab. A list of weapons that qualify for improvement appears. Select one weapon. If you own the listed resources, press Confirm. The upgrade raises damage, stability or another stat - it adds no penalties - every improvement remains useful.

Stronger tiers open only after you raise the bench level. Inside the Gunsmith menu, open the Level Up tab. The screen lists the extra parts you must pay to push the bench to its next rank.

A Note on Rarity and Risk

Purple or yellow weapons demand rare alloys plus crystals for each upgrade. When you die during a mission, the items you carry stay on the field. Save your most expensive upgraded guns for vital runs or for missions where a full squad watches your back.
