Nintendo has announced that Animal Crossing - New Horizons Update 3.0 will release on January 15, 2026. The update is free for players on the original Switch and on the upcoming Switch 2. Below is a clear list of every new feature.

Run the Resort Hotel

A hotel run by Kapp'n's family will appear at your island pier. You decorate guest rooms to match given themes. Each completed room gives you hotel tickets. Trade those tickets for exclusive furniture at the Hotel Souvenir Shop. Scan an amiibo card to invite a chosen villager for a holiday.

Use Resetti's Reset Service

If your island is cluttered, speak to Resetti. His new service packs every placed item into storage. Pick one of three options - clear one chosen map square, clear only the beaches or clear the whole island.

Design in Slumber Islands

Sleep in your bed to enter Slumber Islands, a sandbox zone. You receive three blank islands in small, medium plus large sizes. Terraform freely set the season and time of day and place any unlocked furniture without crafting.

New Collaborations and Items

The update adds crossover content:

Zelda & Splatoon: Scan compatible amiibo to obtain themed clothes, furniture but also the new villagers Tulin, Mineru, Cece besides Viche.
LEGO: Find official LEGO furniture and clothing.
Classic Consoles: Place a Famicom, NES or Game Boy in your house. With a Nintendo Switch Online membership, play a selection of classic games on them.

Quality of Life Upgrades

Home storage gains two more upgrades, first to 7,000 slots as well as then to 9,000 slots. Shrubs and flowers now fit in storage as well.
