Treyarch has done something rare - they showed the full plan for Season 1 of Call of Duty - Black Ops 7 weeks before the game goes on sale November 14. The move tells players that extra content is ready and that the studio will support the game hard from day one.
In a “Dev Talk” video, the team listed everything that will arrive when Season 1 starts. Senior Director of Production Yale Miller said, “This is the largest season we have ever shipped in the series,” and claimed every big mode will get something new.
Multiplayer gains seven 6v6 maps. Some are brand-new - others are old favorites. “Fate” is one of the new maps and borrows its look from a campaign level. “Meltdown,” loved since Black Ops 2 also comes back. Seven guns join the armory, among them the Maddox rifle and the ballistic knife.
The crossbow and ballistic knife return - the party playlist “Sticks and Stones” returns with them besides Prop Hunt. Zombie players receive three maps - one round-based and two survival. Extra upgrades and short holiday events will run during the season.
The studio spoke early to keep hype high after launch. They already changed parts of the game that beta players disliked, like the way automatic doors open. A fresh version of Nuketown lands on November 20, six days after release proving the team wants to feed players steady updates and hold their attention for months.
