While Nissan has opted not to produce a high-performance NISMO version of its redesigned Sentra, a dealership in Arizona is taking matters into its own hands. Pinnacle Nissan of Scottsdale is introducing the Sentra SE RS, a NISMO-inspired variant aimed at recapturing the spirit of early 2000s tuner cars with affordable performance enhancements.

Key Takeaways

The Sentra SE RS: A Dealer-Built Performance Sedan

Pinnacle Nissan's Sentra SE RS is designed to celebrate Nissan's performance heritage and promote genuine NISMO parts. The dealer-installed modifications include a cat-back exhaust system for improved sound and performance, a coil-over performance suspension for sharper handling, and lightweight wheels to reduce unsprung mass. Exterior graphics and special interior accents will further distinguish the SE RS from standard Sentra models.

While pricing details are yet to be released, the Sentra SE RS is slated to go on sale at the dealership next month. To generate further excitement, Pinnacle Nissan is also developing a turbocharged 2026 Sentra equipped with a manual transmission, which will be showcased at the upcoming SEMA Show.

More Than Just Sentra: Pathfinder Projects for SEMA

Leading these custom builds is Nick "NISMO Nick" Scherr, known for his previous Xterra-based Project X. Alongside the Sentra SE RS, Pinnacle Nissan is preparing two distinct Pathfinder projects for their SEMA debut. The first, dubbed the "Pathfinder Remix," is a modernized take on the classic body-on-frame SUV, set to be powered by a V8 engine.

The second Pathfinder project, named "Trackfinder," is envisioned as a high-performance variant. Inspired by NISMO vehicles, this build will feature a lowered stance, aggressive styling, extensive chassis and aerodynamic enhancements, and a supercharged engine. Enthusiasts can follow the progress of these unique builds on Nick Scherr's YouTube channel.
