The Brabus 900 Superblack marks a notable move in the luxury performance coupe market. Based on the Bentley Continental GT and GTC, these models come equipped with an upgraded plug-in hybrid system. The main feature is a re-engineered twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine, enhanced with two bespoke turbochargers, a carbon-fiber airbox, and updated ECU programming. This setup, combined with the electric motor, produces a total of 888 horsepower (662 kW) and 1,100 Nm of torque. These figures put the Brabus 900 Superblack among high-end supercars.
The Coupe accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds. The Cabriolet matches this pace, both improving over the factory GT figures. The Coupe’s top speed is electronically limited to 335 km/h (208 mph), with the Cabriolet capped at 285 km/h (177 mph).
Brabus has given the Continental GT a comprehensive visual transformation. All Bentley insignia are removed, replaced by carbon-fiber inserts. The car features a carbon fiber body kit, including a reshaped splitter, new intake details, a discreet rear spoiler, and set of quad tailpipes integrated into a stainless steel exhaust with active flaps for sound optimization. The ride height is reduced by 20 mm for a more assertive stance, thanks to a new lowering module. The standard 22-inch forged wheels are both stronger and lighter than typical factory options.
Inside, the cabin adopts the Brabus "Masterpiece" approach. Quilted and perforated leather covers nearly every surface, from the seats to the boot. Carbon inserts and bespoke B emblems are prominent throughout the dashboard and door sills. Despite the extensive changes, standard Continental GT features like the advanced air suspension and optional carbon-silicon carbide brakes remain available.
The Brabus 900 Coupe and Cabriolet can be purchased as complete cars or as conversion packages for existing Continental GT/GTC owners. While luxury and exclusivity define these models, practicality is preserved through the use of a plug-in hybrid powertrain. This allows for electric driving at low speeds while delivering supercar performance when required.
At starting prices of €489,200 for the coupe and €538,800 for the cabriolet, the Brabus 900 models are significantly more expensive than the base Bentley Continental GT Speed, which starts at €293,200. However, Brabus targets a limited, discerning audience where exclusivity and bespoke craftsmanship justify the premium. The move to integrate plug-in hybrid technology alongside extensive customization aligns with market trends where high performance and environmental consideration intersect.
A plug-in hybrid uses both an internal combustion engine and an electric motor, which allows for increased power, lower fuel consumption, and the possibility of short-distance electric-only driving. The term “ECU” refers to the engine control unit—a computer that manages engine performance. The carbon-silicon carbide brakes offer lighter weight and greater stopping power than traditional brake systems. The lowering module electronically reduces ride height, which improves handling by lowering the car’s center of gravity.
The Brabus 900 Superblack stands as a statement of technical ability and market positioning in the performance luxury segment.
