The new Lincoln Navigator is a large, eye catching luxury SUV. We have collected the key facts to show whether its performance equals its appearance.
The Navigator keeps its 3.5-liter twin turbo V-6 engine. A 10-speed automatic transmission shifts smoothly. The pair produces 440 horsepower and 510 lb ft of torque, enough to move the heavy SUV with ease.
Yes. The twin turbo V-6 lets the Navigator reach 60 mph in 5.7 seconds plus cover the quarter mile in 14.3 seconds. One tester wrote that it has “hot rod character” and feels like “a brick flying down the highway” at 120 mph.
The Navigator does not shine here. Its body-on-frame build and high weight cause noticeable roll on tight roads as well as the frame sends small shivers into the cabin. An air suspension softens most bumps - yet the ride still trails the comfort level of key rivals.
The standard four-wheel-drive system handles deep sand and slippery ramps without strain. On hard washboard tracks the ride turns harsh or the suspension feels busy.
The SUV carries Lincoln's BlueCruise for hands free highway travel. In tests it drifts toward lane markers and jerks the wheel to recover, while GM's Super Cruise keeps a smoother line.
The 2025 Lincoln Navigator offers a plush cabin also strong engine. Yet it does not set the luxury benchmark. The ride lacks the polish of its peers, the hands free system needs refinement and the heavy use of touchscreen controls will not suit every driver.
