The Honda S2000 has stayed popular for project builds for more than twenty five years. Bulletproof Automotive now adds its own take, named the BP25. The paragraphs below answer common questions about the car.
Bulletproof Automotive produced the BP25 to mark its twenty fifth year in business. The build starts with an S2000 chassis and adds Japanese aftermarket parts and current performance hardware. The finished car appeared at the SEMA Show.
A 2.0-liter crate engine sits in the bay. A Vortech supercharger force feeds the four cylinder raising output to 580 hp at 9,300 rpm. The rev limit remains set at 10,000 rpm. An uprated six speed manual plus a limited slip differential send the power to the rear wheels.
The shop removed the factory soft-top and installed a Spoon hardtop turning the open car into a fixed roof coupe. Bumpers but also a tall rear wing arrive as one Varis Dark Panther carbon fiber kit. Lamborghini Balloon White covers the panels - gold stripes and bare carbon weave with red pin stripes provide contrast.
The suspension uses Top Secret coil-overs as well as control arms, sway bars and bushings from J's Racing, Spoon and other suppliers. Four-piston Brembo Pista calipers bite 328-mm discs behind 19-inch forged wheels.
The cockpit serves track duty. Recaro RS-G buckets hold the occupants with six point harnesses. A Mugen suede wheel and an ARC titanium shift lever sit within reach. A Mugen roll bar, an NSX-R horn button besides Alcantara trim with red stitching complete the look.
