Land Rover has announced a new UK-exclusive special model, the Range Rover Sport SV Ultimate Edition. This vehicle pays tribute to the original SVR from 2015, combining modern performance with a nostalgic design cue. With production limited to just 500 units, it represents a unique offering for brand enthusiasts.
The primary distinction is its tribute to the first-generation SVR. This is most evident in the return of the signature Velocity Blue Gloss paint, available on the current Sport SV for the first time. For those preferring a more subdued look, Obsidian Black Satin and Ethereal Frost Satin are also options. The special edition is further set apart by a contrasting black roof, matching exterior emblems, and 23-inch forged alloy wheels. Its exclusivity is guaranteed, with only 500 units produced, all reserved for the UK market.
The new SV Ultimate Edition offers a substantial performance increase over its predecessor. It is equipped with a BMW-sourced twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 engine, assisted by a mild-hybrid system, delivering 626 horsepower. This allows the SUV to accelerate from 0-60 mph in 3.7 seconds. In contrast, the original SVR used a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 that produced up to 567 horsepower in its final form, achieving a 0-60 mph time of 4.3 seconds. The new model is significantly faster and more powerful.
Beyond the powerful engine, the SV Ultimate Edition includes advanced chassis technology. The 6D Dynamics suspension is a key feature. This system uses interconnected hydraulic dampers to control the vehicle's body movements, minimizing roll during cornering and pitch during acceleration and braking. This provides greater stability and comfort without traditional anti-roll bars. The mild-hybrid system provides a small electric boost, briefly increasing torque to 800 Nm during Dynamic Launch Mode for maximum acceleration.
Yes, the cabin maintains Range Rover's high standards for luxury. The interior is trimmed in perforated Windsor leather and includes a panoramic roof as standard. For entertainment, it features a 29-speaker Meridian sound system. A unique feature is the "Body and Soul Seats," which contain haptic transducers that vibrate with the audio's bass frequencies, creating a more immersive listening experience for the driver and front passenger.
The 2026 Range Rover SV Ultimate Edition is a limited-production model intended solely for the UK market. With only 500 units being built, it is aimed at collectors and dedicated Range Rover enthusiasts in the region. The starting price is set at £145,995, positioning it as a premium, high-performance flagship within the brand's lineup.
