The Manhart MH7 700 is a specially modified version of the previous-generation BMW M760Li, specifically the G11/G12 model series. The German tuning company Manhart has taken this V12-powered luxury sedan, which is no longer in production, and upgraded its performance and aesthetics to create a more powerful and exclusive vehicle.
The vehicle's twin-turbo 6.6-liter V12 engine has been tuned to produce 701 horsepower and 1,050 Newton-meters of torque. This represents a substantial increase from the stock M760Li's output of 601 horsepower and 800 Nm. While Manhart has not published official acceleration figures, the added power is expected to significantly improve upon the factory 0-100 km/h (62 mph) time of 3.7 seconds.
The power gains are the result of specific hardware and software modifications. Manhart installs its MHtronik Powerbox, an auxiliary control unit that remaps the engine's electronic controls. This is paired with a turbocharger performance upgrade. To handle the increased airflow, a stainless steel exhaust system is fitted, which includes sport downpipes with 200-cell catalytic converters. This setup reduces backpressure, allowing the engine to breathe more freely and produce more power.
The chassis modifications are subtle. The factory air suspension system is retained, but it has been lowered using new coupling rods to give the car a more planted stance. The braking system remains the stock factory setup. The car is fitted with 21-inch Concave One forged alloy wheels, which are lighter and stronger than standard wheels.
This project acts as a tribute to the V12 engine, a configuration that BMW has discontinued in its latest 7-Series. Many enthusiasts prefer the design of the previous-generation model over the current one. Manhart's visual changes are restrained, consisting of a carbon-fiber front splitter, mirror caps, and a rear lip spoiler. These additions, along with an optional decal set, enhance the car's sporty appearance without being excessive, providing a fitting sendoff for the V12-powered flagship.
