Mercedes-Benz has announced an aggressive product strategy, signaling the upcoming release of a significant number of new models over the next two years. The German luxury automaker revealed plans for a substantial lineup expansion, including both internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles and fully electric options, aiming to cater to a wide range of market segments.
Mercedes-Benz is set to stage seven world premieres in the immediate future, adding to the recently introduced facelifted S-Class and GLC 53. The new Mercedes-Maybach S-Class is slated for a March debut, followed by the AMG GT 4-Door later this year. The SUV variant of the AMG GT will arrive in 2027, the same year the G-Class Cabriolet is expected to be unveiled.
For 2026, Mercedes-Benz plans to introduce 16 new vehicles. Six of these will be fully electric, while the remaining ten will feature internal combustion engines. A significant portion of these will fall under the "Top-End" category, suggesting new S-Class variants and potentially more AMG models. The "Core" segment will see five new ICE vehicles and three EVs, including the new GLC EQ L for the Chinese market. The "Entry" segment will also receive a new ICE and an EV model, possibly indicating a redesigned GLA to join the CLA and GLB.
Looking ahead to 2027, Mercedes-Benz has 14 models planned, with three being fully electric. The majority of these will bolster the "Core" family, while "Top-End" offerings might include a facelifted SL. The company also mentioned a new long-wheelbase GLE for China, likely based on the updated crossover, though its specific arrival date remains unconfirmed.
Alongside its product announcements, Mercedes-Benz reported a decrease in adjusted earnings before interest and taxes for the past year, citing challenges in China, tariffs, and foreign exchange headwinds. However, the company highlighted a reduction in research and development expenses related to future architectures and technologies. The proposed dividend per share has also been lowered compared to the previous year.
