Audi is preparing to launch its updated 2027 A6 e-tron and Q6 e-tron models in the second quarter of the year. These electric vehicles arrive with significant changes focused on technology, driver convenience, and performance. Here is a breakdown of the key information.
The most notable update is on the steering wheel. Audi has replaced some of the unpopular touch-sensitive haptic buttons with physical scroll wheels. The wheel on the right side now controls audio volume, while the one on the left is used to navigate menus in the driver's gauge cluster. This change directly addresses driver feedback that the previous touch controls could be difficult and distracting to use while driving.
A new, optional Technology package includes an augmented-reality head-up display. This system projects key information like speed and navigation directions onto the windshield, appearing as if it's floating over the road ahead. The package also adds a dedicated screen for the front passenger. Furthermore, a 4K dashcam is now offered, and the voice control system has been upgraded to operate functions like the adaptive cruise control and air suspension.
Audi has refined the regenerative braking function to include a one-pedal driving mode. This allows the driver to accelerate and slow the vehicle down to a stop using only the accelerator pedal, which can make driving in traffic less strenuous. For those seeking higher performance, the S6 Sportback e-tron model receives a new Dynamic Plus driving mode, which is configured to allow for controlled oversteer during performance driving.
The 2027 A6 e-tron lineup starts with the standard 375-horsepower model at $66,700. The more powerful 456-horsepower e-tron quattro is priced from $68,700, and the top-tier 543-horsepower S6 Sportback e-tron starts at $79,600.
For the Q6 e-tron SUV, pricing begins at $64,500 for the 456-horsepower e-tron SUV quattro. The performance-oriented SQ6 e-tron SUV starts at $73,200. These updates position the models competitively within the premium electric vehicle segment.
