Bentley has unveiled its latest performance-oriented models, the Continental GT S and GTC S. These new grand tourers combine a potent plug-in hybrid powertrain with advanced chassis technology, offering an exhilarating driving experience without sacrificing the ability to travel on electric power alone. Designed for driving enthusiasts, the S models bring a new level of dynamic capability to Bentley's iconic lineup.
The heart of the new Continental GT S and GTC S is a High Performance Hybrid powertrain. This system pairs a 4.0-liter V8 engine with electric power, resulting in a combined output of 671 horsepower and 686 lb-ft of torque. This allows the coupe and convertible to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in a brisk 3.3 seconds, with a top speed of 190 mph. Impressively, these performance figures are complemented by an all-electric range of up to 50 miles, offering a blend of power and efficiency.
Bentley has equipped the S models with the performance-focused Active Chassis setup, previously seen on the GT Speed and GT Mulliner. This includes active all-wheel drive with torque vectoring, a sophisticated suspension system featuring twin-valve dampers, and an active anti-roll system. New additions for the Continental GT S include an electronic limited-slip differential and all-wheel steering, enhancing agility and driver engagement. The Dynamic Mode allows for controlled drifting, while the stability control system can be fully deactivated for those seeking the ultimate track experience.
Visually, the S models are distinguished by the Blackline Specification. This includes gloss black matrix grille inserts, black badging, a subtle front spoiler, sporty side skirts, and Beluga black mirror caps. Tinted lighting units, a sports exhaust system, and unique 22-inch wheels with a silver finish further set them apart. Customers can also opt for various wheel finishes, including two-tone and gloss black.
Inside, the S models feature a unique two-tone upholstery split and a distinctive "fluted seat design." Dinamica upholstery is used on the steering wheel, shifter, and door panels, adding a sporty touch. Standard Piano black trim is complemented by optional carbon fiber, dark chrome accents, and a full leather interior, allowing for extensive personalization.
