Motorola has unveiled its 2026 Razr series, pushing the boundaries of foldable phone technology with significant upgrades in battery life and camera systems. The new lineup, featuring the Razr Ultra, Razr Plus, and the standard Razr, introduces advanced features across the board. However, these enhancements are accompanied by notable price increases, positioning the new models at a premium compared to their predecessors.

Razr Ultra 2026: The Premium Flagship

The Razr Ultra 2026 stands as the top-tier offering, priced at $1,500. A key advancement is its larger 5,000-mAh silicon-carbon battery, which increases capacity without enlarging the physical size—a critical innovation for the compact design of clamshell foldables. The camera system receives a major upgrade with a 50-megapixel main camera featuring a LOFIC (Lateral Overflow Integration Capacitor) image sensor, designed to deliver superior dynamic range in photos. It retains the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor and 16GB of RAM from the 2025 model but comes with a 512GB storage option, a step down from the previous 1TB variant. The device features a 4-inch cover display and a 7-inch main screen, both with a 165Hz refresh rate.

Razr Plus 2026: An Incremental Step Up

Priced at $1,100, the Razr Plus 2026 presents a more modest evolution. It shares many specifications with its 2025 counterpart, including the Snapdragon 8S Gen 3 chip and 12GB of RAM. The most significant updates are the inclusion of a larger 4,500-mAh silicon-carbon battery and the replacement of the telephoto lens with a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera, joining the 50-megapixel main camera. The device maintains a 4-inch cover screen and a 6.9-inch main display, both supporting a 165Hz refresh rate. While it introduces new AI-powered tools in Google Photos, the $100 price increase makes its value proposition a key consideration for potential buyers.

Razr 2026: The Evolving Base Model

The entry-level Razr 2026, priced at $800, receives the most substantial changes, though with some trade-offs. It is powered by a new MediaTek Dimensity 7450X chip and features a larger 4,800-mAh silicon-carbon battery. The camera setup is improved, with both the wide and ultrawide rear cameras now being 50-megapixel sensors. A notable downgrade, however, is the storage, which has been halved to 128GB from the 256GB offered in the 2025 model, with no option for microSD expansion.
