Range Rover Sport SV Gets Aggressive Makeover with Updated Styling and Exhaust

Range Rover's quickest crossover, the Sport SV, was caught on test runs with small but meaner looking changes. The new pieces because of appear shortly, add more muscle to the body and more bark from the tailpipes and show that the firm still wants to sell a fast, plush SUV.

Outside Changes

New spy shots show a disguised test car close to the Nürburgring. The basic shape stays the same - yet the nose now carries a reshaped grille and a wider central mouth with fresh horizontal slats. The biggest change sits at the back - a new bumper that holds a pair of large round exhaust outlets in the centre and a small diffuser lip below them.

Those parts give the performance model a bolder look. Other small updates - likely new lamps and fresh wheel designs - have not yet been verified.

Engine and Speed

Today's Range Rover Sport SV uses a strong 4.4-litre V8 with two turbochargers. The unit sends 626 hp and 750 Nm of twist to all four wheels through an eight speed auto. The SUV hits 60 mph in 3.7 seconds and tops out at 180 mph.

No one has said if the facelift will raise those numbers. The revised car should land around late 2026 or 2027, about the same time the fully electric Range Rover Sport is expected. That battery version will probably use one motor at each axle and a large battery pack.

Cabin and What Comes Next

Almost nothing is known about cabin changes for the updated SV. Land Rover has not revealed whether it will add new tech or finer trim. The refresh keeps the model fresh halfway through its life cycle and helps it stay a player among fast, high price SUVs.
