Ferrari has introduced a new Handling Speciale (HS) package for its Purosangue model. This suite of factory upgrades is available on request for new orders and is designed to provide a more focused and sporty driving experience for the four-door, four-seat vehicle.
The core of the Handling Speciale package lies in its chassis and transmission modifications. The Purosangue's active suspension system has been recalibrated, a change that results in a 10 percent reduction in body roll during cornering. For the driver, this translates to a more stable and responsive feel, with sharper turn-in and a more connected sensation to the road. The transmission has also been tweaked for faster gear shifts, particularly in the more aggressive Race and ESC Off driving modes. These shifts now occur at a higher engine RPM, adding to the car's dynamic character during spirited driving.
While the handling is sharpened, the Purosangue's straight-line performance figures remain unchanged. The naturally-aspirated V12 engine is not modified, so the 0-62 mph time of 3.3 seconds and the top speed of over 193 mph are identical to the standard model. However, the auditory experience is enhanced. The V12 engine produces a louder sound on start-up, and the engine noise within the cabin is more pronounced, contributing to the sportier feel that the HS package aims to deliver.
Visually, the Handling Speciale package is discreet. Ferrari has avoided major aesthetic changes, opting for subtle identifiers. The upgrades are marked by a few HS badges, carbon fiber shields on the front wings, and darker exhaust pipes. New wheel designs featuring diamond-cut edges are also part of the package. This approach positions the HS option for buyers who prioritize driving dynamics over overt visual statements. The package adds a significant cost to the vehicle's final price, targeting customers seeking the most precise version of Ferrari's four-door model.
